How to change negotiations and contracts in knowledge work: we talk about it with Jacopo Romei. Jacopo Romei currently helps companies develop their products in conditions of uncertainty, both in the start-up scene and in corporate venture building. He tells us about himself: “ I have been paid to program since 1996, an experience that led me to create three IT companies: I destroyed two, while the third was a success. I fell in love with lean and agile methods in 2003 and have been promoting better practices for digital product development and knowledge work ever since.
Before and after being hired by eBay in 2012, as a freelancer, I worked Germany Phone Number for many European companies, including Amazon, Siemens, FAO, Lavazza and Innoleaps. I love ski mountaineering, sailing, gliding, 3D printing, programming robots and, recently, making cider .” The article continues… Interview with Jacopo Romei – Extreme contracts: Knowledge work from negotiation to collaboration With eyes wide open: AI Festival 2024 READ THE ARTICLE > Interview with Jacopo Romei – Extreme contracts: Knowledge work from negotiation to collaboration In 2011, working as an entrepreneur, the author began to question how to design agreements with customers and suppliers in knowledge work , that is, work based on theoretical and specialist knowledge, often regulated by collaboration or fixed-term contracts.
Working in the field showed him that lean and agile thinking had not yet pervaded this field and he realized that this problem needed to be solved upstream. The author began to experiment and extrapolated some principles from the most successful experiences. In 2017, he collected these 8 principles and called them Extreme Contracts . Through these points, the author has set out to redefine negotiation for every knowledge worker , including designers, developers, architects, managers, photographers and all those who are responsible for delivering projects with volatile requirements, uncertainty and a wide range of skills required. The discussion touches on many aspects, including who can benefit most from reading the book, what are the salient points covered, how the contract landscape has changed in Italy since the release of “ Extreme Contracts ” in 2017 and how the book could be updated today.
